Lincoln Bowen

Lincoln Bowen is an Australian guitarist and backing vocalist, widely recognized for his contributions to the Christian extreme metal scene. He is best known for his multiple tenures with the pioneering death/thrash metal band Mortification.

Career

Bowen joined Mortification in 1996, debuting during a challenging transition period for the band following founder Steve Rowe's battle with leukemia. He was instrumental in shifting the band's sound towards groove and thrash metal, recording albums such as Triumph of Mercy (1998), Hammer of God (1999), and The Silver Cord is Severed (2001). After leaving the band in 2001, he returned in 2011 to record the Scribe of the Pentateuch EP (2012).

In addition to Mortification, Bowen partnered with Steve Rowe to form the rock and roll side project Wonrowe Vision, releasing albums like Mission Invincible (2010) and The Pictures of the Past Present and Future (2013). He also had a brief stint as the guitarist for the Australian doom metal band The Eternal between 2005 and 2006.

In 2026, it was announced that Bowen would participate in the highly anticipated Mortification Latin American tour celebrating the 35th anniversary of Scrolls of the Megilloth (set for 2027). Due to Steve Rowe's health conditions, Bowen joined a special legacy lineup featuring Jayson Sherlock, Mick Jelinic, and Crimson Thorn's Luke Renno on bass and vocals.
