Michael Barnes (born December 7, 1978) is the lead singer of the American rock band Red. Along with brothers Anthony and Randy Armstrong, Barnes formed the group in Nashville in 2002. His vocal style is characterized by intense emotional delivery, seamlessly transitioning between melodic singing and aggressive screams that define the band's alternative metal sound.
With Red, Barnes achieved global success starting with their debut album, End of Silence (2006), which earned a Grammy nomination. Over two decades, he has co-written hits like "Breathe Into Me" and "Already Over," establishing himself as one of the most respected voices in the Christian and mainstream rock scenes.
