About
Mick Jelinic
Mick Jelinic is an Australian guitarist best known for his notable contribution to the global Christian metal scene as a member of the highly influential death/thrash metal band Mortification.
Career with Mortification
Jelinic joined Mortification in 2002, a band fronted by bassist and vocalist Steve Rowe. His arrival marked a period of stability and a revitalization of the group's sound, bringing back a heavier and more aggressive approach that harkened back to the band's extreme death and thrash metal roots, stepping away from the groove and punk metal elements of the late 90s.
Mick served as the band's lead guitarist for nearly a decade, departing around 2011. During his tenure in Mortification, he was highly praised for his technical proficiency, precise solos, and crushing riffs that became the foundation for the albums released during that era.
