Skillet is an American Christian rock and hard rock band formed in Memphis, Tennessee, in 1996. The current lineup consists of John Cooper, his wife Korey Cooper, Seth Morrison, and Jen Ledger. Over nearly three decades, the band has evolved from a post-grunge sound to a powerful mix of alternative metal, symphonic rock, and electronic elements.

History and Career

The band was founded by John Cooper and Ken Steorts. After several lineup changes and sonic experimentation in the 90s, Skillet achieved global stardom with the albums Comatose (2006) and Awake (2009). The latter debuted at #2 on the Billboard 200 and featured the hit "Monster," which became one of the most-streamed rock songs in history.

The quartet is renowned for their high-energy live performances and for maintaining a message of faith and resilience, allowing them to cross over successfully between the Christian music market and the mainstream rock scene. In 2024, the band entered a new era with the release of Revolution, marking their debut as independent artists.
